U.S. Military’s Electric Hybrid Stealth Motorcycle Under Development
We have heard of stealth fighter planes and submarines. Coming next is a stealth dirt bike. The U.S. military has released money for the development of a hybrid electric dirt bike that soldiers can ride for long periods, on rough terrain, while making no noise.
The project has been awarded by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to a company called Logos Technologies from Virginia. The company has already developed a hybrid electric system that can run while hardly making any noise. Furthermore, this hybrid engine can run on different types of fuels, from diesel to petrol to biofuel.

The next step is to get this engine to power a military grade dirt bike with extreme off-road capability. Helping out with this task will be another project partner, BRD. This is a company that specialises in building electric motorcycles.
According to Logos, once conceived, this will be the world's first electric hybrid, multifuel, two-wheel drive off-road motorcycle.
While specifics about the motorcycles are still not known, military spec stealth motorcycles would prove useful in expeditionary and special forces operations to traverse rough terrain or to sneak up on the enemy silently in narrow city streets.
