UM Motorcycles Coming To India With Lohia Auto
UM Motorcycles is an automotive brand of America, it was founded in 1992 by Octavio Villegas Llano. It is relatively a modern automobile manufacturer and is learning with every step taken. They had recently announced it would be entering the Indian market with its product portfolio.
Companies have been taken India seriously as a growing market and believe there is tremendous potential in Indian market. UM Motorcycles has opted to enter the Indian market with two wheeler electric bike maker Lohia Auto.
Currently Lohia Auto has its manufacturing facility situated in Uttarakhand. They have a capacity of manufacturing 1,00,000 units on a yearly basis. UM Motorcycles will manufacturer an entirely new range of products from this joint venture to lure Indian buyers.
UM Motorcycles had earlier showcased a few of their motorcycles at the 2014 Auto Expo held in New Delhi. The American manufacturer witnessed an astounding response, which has led to a 50-50 joint venture with Lohia Auto.
Juan Villegas, Director UM International told source, "UM International is here to make difference in Indian Motorcycle Arena and not just one more player. We are looking at India with long term perspective, with a vision to not to only cater to domestic need but to also export to different part of the world."
He further added, "We will continuously keep improving our products to be ahead of the league in terms of performance and affordability. We will launch bikes in all segments including sports and touring as we move forward."
