Polaris To Bring Victory Motorcycles To India
U.S based Polaris Industries, the makers of off-road bikes and trikes, and snowmobiles, has announced that it will bring its two wheeler brand, Victory Motorcycles to India by the end of 2013.
The announcement was made by Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director and Country Head, Polaris India. "Yes we have decided to launch in the market by the end of 2013," Dubey told during a press conference in Coimbatore.
Victory Motorcycles offers cruiser style two wheelers and these high-end bikes are generally sold at over INR 6 lakh in the U.S and in other markets. In India they are sure to cost more due to added taxes.
Pankaj Dubey did not divulge further details regarding their plans so, we'll have to wait till the end of the year to know which models the company plans to introduce and their price tags. When introduced in India Victory's cruisers will compete against other international manufacturers like Harley Davidson, Suzuki
Honda and Hyosung.
Victory cruisers are generally powered by V-Twin engines mated to six speed transmissions. Other than its ATVs, UTVs, and the Victory motorcycle brand, Polaris also owns the classic Indian Motorcycles brand.
