Honda's Cheapest Bike, Dream Neo, Launched
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the Dream Neo, its cheapest ever offering for the country's motorcycle market. The Japanese auto giant, which recently became India's second largest motorcycle maker by replacing Bajaj Auto, aims towards the number one spot with the launch of the new budget bike in the high volume commuter segment.
Honda Neo has a starting price of Rs. 43,150 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi), which makes it cheaper than even the 110cc Honda Dio gearless scooter, that goes for Rs. 44,718. "Dream Neo is Honda's next big leap towards creating deep inroads into the Indian commuter segment," HMSI President and CEO Keita Muramatsu said during the launch event.










Honda Neo is powered by a 109cc engine which is said to deliver a mileage of 74 km/l. Honda Neo will be available in three variants. The cheapest variant, with kick drum brakes and steel spokes will cost Rs. 43,150, the next, with kick drum brakes and alloy wheels will cost Rs. 44,150 and the top variant, with self drum brakes and alloy wheels will cost Rs. 47,240.
The cheapest motorcycle currently available in India is the Hero HF Dawn which has a starting price of Rs 36,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Yamaha, meanwhile, has promised the world's cheapest bike, that will debut in India, with a starting price of just $500 or Rs. 27,000.
