Honda Activa-i Scooter Launched At Rs 44,000
Honda has launched a new variant of the Activa gearless scooter called Activa i. Priced at Rs 44,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Activa i is about Rs 3,000 less expensive than the regular Activa, making it the new base Honda scooter model available in India.
Activa i, according to Honda Motorcycles And Scooters India, is a Compact Scooter. At the launch event HMSI president and CEO Keita Muramatsu said: "As a leader in the automatic scooters segment, Honda's entry into the personal compact segment with Activa-I is its next strategic step towards reinforcing its market leadership."
What differentiates Activa i from the regular Activa is the slimmer and lighter (103 kg against Activa's 110 kg) design. Activa i incorporates several new design changes as well, which sets it apart from its larger cousin.

Activa i incorporates design elements from both the Activa and the Aviator. Activa i has a new front end, where the indicator lamps are no longer clustered with the headlamp and are instead placed in the same position as in the Aviator.

The side profile once again resembles the Aviator, however, it is more streamlined, with a slimmer design.

A few other changes come in the form of dual colour instrument cluster, a redesigned rear lamp cluster, a hugger fender and a differently styled rear grab handle.
