Bajaj Pulsar 390 Revealed Through Scoop Images
The first images of the upcoming ‘larger' Pulsar sportsbike are now out, thanks to Autocar India. The publication, which posted a single image of the front end of the Pulsar 390 has now come out with a whole set of images sourced from the same informant.
Bajaj Pulsar 390 will be the Indian bike makers first big step into the niche, but growing performance bike segment. Since the time Bajaj joined hands with the Austrian KTM, it has shown a new flair for sports bike, starting with the Pulsar 200NS. The Pulsar 200NS has been well received by both experts as well as buyers. With the Pulsar 390 Bajaj will take styling and performance several steps ahead.
Pulsar 390 will be Bajaj's first fully faired motorcycle. From the images we can make out that design cues from the Kawasaki Ninja have been taken, with a similar set of headlights. The split seats look somewhat similar to the Pulsar 200NS and unlike most sports bikes the rear seat look comfortably large for the pillion rider.
The tank looks well sculpted and muscular, while the alloy wheels look like come from the KTM Duke. But this might change with the production version. We expect the Pulsar 390 to come with Metzeler radial tyres used in the KTM 390.

Bajaj Pulsar 390 will use the KTM 375cc engine that delivers 45HP. But expect the Pulsar 390 to be slower than the KTM 390 since it will definitely be heavier than its naked counterpart.

Taking a calculated guess, we project the Bajaj Pulsar 390 to be priced at least Rs 25,000 less than the KTM 390, which should come around INR 2 lakhs, on-road. Bajaj is expected to launch the bike during the festive season, towards the end of the year. If not the launch should happen early next year.
