Bajaj Pulsar 200NS With Fuel Injection To Arrive In Indonesia
PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia Deputy Head of Sales and Marketing, Dewi Setptianti has reportedly told Indonesian site Otonity.com that it would soon be introducing the fuel injected version of the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in that country.
While Bajaj does not sell the fuel injected version of its flagship motorcycle in India, it does already offer this version in a few other markets in Western Asia and Eastern Europe.
Bajaj Pulsar 200NS FI does not differ much from the Indian version that uses a carburetor. The motorcycle's 199.5cc, four-valve, triple spark plug engine still delivers the same 23 horsepower 9500 rpm and 18 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. It does lack the fuel reserve knob though.

Back in 2007, Bajaj had introduced fuel injection in its then flagship Pulsar 220, but had to discontinue due to service issues and a higher price tag. At present, it would seem the only reason Bajaj is hesitant to introduce fuel injection in the Pulsar 200NS is keep the price tag under INR 1 lakh.
Most likely than not, the fuel injection unit used in the 200NS comes from the KTM 200 Duke, with which it share the engine. A motorcycle that's also manufactured by Bajaj at its Chakan plant. Hence, we believe it is only a matter of time before the company introduces fuel injection in the Indian version as well.
While fuel injection does not offer any significant improvement in power output, it does improve throttle response, offer better fuel economy, lower CO2 emission and make the engine more reliable.
