Yamaha XSR 155 Gets Stunning New Black Colour Option In Japan: More Stylish Than Indian Model
Yamaha Motor has launched the Yamaha XSR155 Roadster in Japan with a new black colour option. This fresh paint scheme makes the motorcycle look even more premium and visually appealing.
The XSR155 is a neo-retro motorcycle that was launched in India last year using the same 155cc VVA liquid-cooled engine found in the Yamaha R15 V4 and Yamaha MT-15. The motorcycle has been well received in the Indian market, with many buyers appreciating its simple retro styling combined with Yamaha's advanced VVA engine technology.

The newly introduced Japanese-spec XSR155 now comes with an elegant black colour scheme featuring premium golden stripes running across the fuel tank, along with a Yamaha badge finished with a red background.
This new paint treatment gives the motorcycle a more premium and upmarket appearance compared to the Indian-spec black variant. It also receives unique bronze-finished alloy wheels with block-pattern tyres, further enhancing its classic roadster appeal.
Japanese vs Indian Spec Differences

Mechanically, the Japanese version continues to use the same 155cc single-cylinder SOHC VVA liquid-cooled engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. However, the Japanese-spec model produces slightly higher power figures than the Indian version. It develops 18.7 hp and 14 Nm of torque, whereas the Indian-spec motorcycle is tuned to produce 18.1 hp and 14.2 Nm of torque.
Yamaha has tuned the Indian version differently to better suit local riding conditions and fuel quality. The Japanese variant is priced at approximately 4,90,000 JPY, which converts to around ₹2.97 lakh in Indian currency. In comparison, the Indian-spec Yamaha XSR155 is priced at around ₹1.53 lakh (ex-showroom).

The XSR155 remains one of the most affordable retro-styled motorcycles in the Indian market. Its main rivals include the TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350, both of which compete in a similar price segment.
One of the major reasons behind the XSR155's popularity in India is its strong international presence, which gives the motorcycle a more premium and aspirational image among Indian consumers.
