Yamaha EC 06 Launched At Rs 1.67 Lakh - First Electric Yamaha Offers 169km Range
Yamaha has announced the launch of the EC 06 electric scooter in India. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer's first-ever EV, the Yamaha EC 06, is priced at Rs 1,67,600 ex-showroom Delhi.
The Yamaha EC 06 will be available in a single Bluish White paint finish and will be retailed exclusively through select Yamaha Blue Square showrooms in designated cities across the nation, which have been earmarked to sell the firm's first-ever EV in India.

The Yamaha EC 06 has been developed in India with a global outlook and is positioned as an urban commuter. Yamaha has confirmed a certified riding range of 169 km on a full charge under standard testing conditions for the 4kWh battery pack.
The battery system of the Yamaha EC 06 supports standard home plug-in charging and requires approximately eight hours to reach a full charge, while Yamaha provides a warranty coverage of three years or 30,000 km for the battery pack.

The Yamaha EC 06's lithium-ion battery pack is paired with an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, delivering a peak power output of 6.7 kW and maximum torque of 26 Nm, and a claimed top speed of 79 km/h.
Riders can select between three riding modes on the Yamaha EC 06. These modes are Eco, Standard and Power, and they differ in how the allowing adjustment of acceleration response and energy usage, while a dedicated Reverse Mode assists with reversing and parking in confined spaces.

Suspension hardware includes telescopic front forks with hydraulic dampers and a rear coil spring arrangement, configured for city riding comfort, while braking duties are handled by 200 mm disc brakes at both ends, supported by a Combi Brake System.
Both the motor and battery pack are rated to IP67 standards for resistance against dust and water ingress, while other electrical components carry an IP65 rating.
The Yamaha EC 06 features a colour LCD instrument display that shows speed, battery charge level, riding modes and related vehicle information, and it integrates with the Yamaha Motor Connect R smartphone application for connected functions and real-time data access.
Lighting equipment comprises LED headlamps and tail lamps, and the scooter offers 24.5 litres of under-seat storage capacity intended to accommodate a helmet or daily essentials, supporting routine commuting and short-distance urban travel requirements.
