Yamaha Aerox-E Launched At Rs 2.82 Lakh - 117km Range, 95.5km/h Top Speed

Yamaha has entered the premium electric scooter segment in India with the launch of the Aerox-E. The Yamaha Aero-E scooter carries over the sporty design language of the petrol-powered Aerox 155 while switching to an all-electric powertrain.

Priced at Rs 2.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Yamaha Aerox-E is fitted with dual removable battery packs and a claimed IDC range of 117 km. The Aerox-E is offered in a single colour option, a glossy white shade finished with black accents and light blue graphics.

Yamaha Aerox-E - The Bits & Features That Matter

Power for the Yamaha Aerox-E comes from two removable 1.5kWh lithium-ion battery packs with a combined capacity of 3.0kWh. A single battery pack takes 3 hours 10 minutes to charge from 0-100 percent, while charging both packs together takes 6 hours 20 minutes.

The battery packs are paired with a mid-mounted electric motor that produces a peak output of 12.6bhp (9.4kW) of power and 48Nm. Yamaha claims the Aerox-E can deliver an IDC-certified range of 117km on a full charge and can also hit a top speed of 95.5km/h (in Power + Boost Mode).

The all-new Yamaha Aerox-E offers three riding modes: Economy, Standard and Power. These allow riders to switch between range-focused and performance-focused settings depending on their requirements. There is also a Boost mode which gives the Aerox-E a 10-second surge of extra power by pressing down a switch on the left handlebar.

The Aerox-E comes loaded with a full-colour TFT instrument console offering turn-by-turn navigation along with call and SMS alerts. It is paired with the Yamaha Y-Connect app for tracking ride statistics, and gets all-LED lighting, keyless ignition and a reverse mode. Safety kit includes single-channel ABS and a Traction Control System.

The Aerox-E rides on 14-inch wheels with a 110-section front tyre and a 140-section rear tyre. Disc brakes are used at both ends, backed by single-channel ABS. The Aerox-E tips the scales at 139kg.
