Vespa Celebrates 80 Years With Record-Breaking 25,000 Scooter Rally In Rome
Vespa celebrated its 80th anniversary by hosting a massive rally with more than 25,000 Vespa riders from 67 countries, parading through Rome, Italy. This grand event is being claimed as the largest Vespa rally ever organized in the brand's history.
Vespa Celebrates 80 Years Of Iconic Legacy
One of the oldest and most iconic scooters in the world, the Vespa has remained a symbol of style and heritage since its launch in 1946. Over the decades, the Italian scooter has attained cult status among enthusiasts across the globe.

Vespa has evolved into a lifestyle brand, inspiring millions with its distinctive Italian design and modern technology. To celebrate the legacy of this iconic scooter, Piaggio organized a massive parade in Italy, Vespa's home country.
The morning cavalcade was the highlight of the VESPA ROMA 2026 - 80 Years of an Icon celebration. The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, flagged off the parade, which was led by the presidents of Vespa Clubs representing all 67 countries participating in the event.

The parade featured around 25,000 riders and owners from across the world. It passed through some of Rome's most iconic landmarks, including the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, and Fori Imperiali. Thousands of spectators lined the streets to witness the rally, capturing photographs and celebrating the occasion.
Vespa scooters from the original 1946 models to modern-day offerings like the Primavera and GTS took part in the event. Piaggio has also transformed the Foro Italico into a Vespa Village, where visitors can explore the history of the Vespa lineup.

The celebrations will conclude on June 28, 2026, and include merchandise, music concerts, exhibitions, and interactive activities for visitors. Vespa has also unveiled the new GTS 310 Eightieth Edition as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations in Rome. Based on the standard GTS 310, this special edition will be limited to just 1,946 units, marking the year the first-ever Vespa was introduced.
Vespa also enjoys huge popularity in India, where the brand's journey started back in the 1960s. Over the years, it partnered with brands like Bajaj Auto and LML to sell scooters. The brand re-entered India independently in 2012 and currently sells scooters in the 125cc and 150cc segments. It continues to remain one of the world's most aspirational lifestyle scooter brands, blending Italian engineering with decades of heritage.
