TVS Ronin Cafe Racer Prototype Patented – Affordable GT 650 Rival Incoming?
TVS Motor Company has patented the Ronin Café Racer in India. This upcoming model is expected to feature a distinct design and styling compared to the standard Ronin 225, adopting a more traditional café racer style.
TVS Ronin Cafe Racer Patented
Café racers are popular among younger riders because of their sporty look and retro design. Their unique style makes them stand out from regular motorcycles. However, the segment in India is still limited. Bikes like the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Triumph Thruxton are available, but they are priced on the higher side, leaving fewer options for budget buyers.
Recognising this gap, TVS appears to be working on a more affordable café racer based on the Ronin platform, which is already well-established in the Indian market. The Ronin is known for its neo-retro design, modern features, capable engine, and comfortable suspension setup at a competitive price point. With the café racer version, TVS is likely to reposition the bike with a more focused and aggressive styling approach.

The new model is expected to feature design elements such as a single-piece seat, front cowl, rear seat cowl, low-set handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and sportier tyres. It is also likely to retain key features from the standard model, including the round instrument cluster, USD front forks, tubeless tyres, disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, upswept exhaust, and suspension setup.
TVS has previously showcased a custom-built Ronin Café Racer at MotoSoul 2025, indicating the brand's interest in this segment. The production version could also feature unique colour schemes, graphics, and racing-inspired decals.

Mechanically, the motorcycle is expected to remain unchanged, continuing with the 225.9cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine that produces around 20 bhp and 19.93 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Performance figures are likely to remain similar to the standard Ronin. With the patent now filed, the TVS Ronin Café Racer could make its debut by late 2026. If launched, it could become an attractive option for buyers seeking a stylish and affordable café racer under 250cc, while also offering modern features not typically seen in this segment.
