TVS NTORQ 150 Now Race-Ready – Scooter Enters Motorsport

TVS NTORQ 150 is now eligible to participate in various motorsport events in India, as the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India has officially homologated the scooter. This performance-focused scooter is sold in India at a starting price of 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

TVS NTORQ 150 Becomes Eligible For Motorsports

TVS Motor Company has been actively involved in motorsports for decades, with its performance-oriented models-especially the Apache series-drawing strong inspiration from racing machines. This move marks a rare step for scooters entering competitive motorsports in India.

With this homologation, TVS Ntorq 150 Gets Motorsport Approval in India. While this may come as a surprise, the race-spec version is expected to be significantlyleaner by removing unnecessary components to reduce weight and enhance performance.

The standard model weighs around 115 kg, and with weight reduction in its race-spec form, it is likely to deliver quicker acceleration and improved top speed. A lighter and more focused setup will also enhance agility and rider control, making it better suited for competitive conditions.

Powering the scooter is a 149.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 13 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox. TVS claims the standard model can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of up to 104 km/h. These figures are expected to improve further in the race-prepped version.

TVS NTORQ 150

TVS has already demonstrated its capabilities in scooter racing with the Ntorq 125, which has competed in national rally championships. The introduction of the Ntorq 150 into motorsports marks a bigger step for the brand, potentially opening doors to broader racing participation, including global events.

The Ntorq 150 is already well-regarded among enthusiasts for its sporty character and performance-oriented tuning. With its entry into motorsports, TVS is likely to strengthen its appeal among younger riders while reinforcing its racing DNA.
