TVS To Boost Production Capacity By 15 Lakh Units Amid Rising Global Demand
TVS Motor Company is planning a major expansion of its manufacturing capabilities, with the company aiming to increase production capacity by 15 lakh units by 2026. This move is intended to strengthen supply and support rising demand across domestic and international markets.
TVS to Increase Production Capacity
TVS Motor Company is one of India's leading manufacturers of two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Based in Hosur, TVS Motor Company exports vehicles to a wide range of markets, including Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and several countries in the Americas.

Over the past few years, the company has witnessed significant growth in sales, with demand increasing steadily across segments. To keep pace, TVS Motor Company plans to expand production capacity for premium motorcycles, electric scooters, and three-wheelers.
The proposed expansion will add 15 lakh units to the company's existing annual production capacity of 68 lakh units, taking the total to approximately 83 lakh units per year. This increase will enable TVS to better meet growing global demand and support its expanding product portfolio.

Rising Sales and Demand
TVS Motor Company has also emerged as a major player in India's electric two-wheeler market with products such as the TVS iQube and the upcoming Orbiter electric scooter. In FY2026, the company recorded total sales of 5.9 million units, while electric vehicle sales grew by 44 percent compared with FY2025.
Another major focus area for TVS is the revival of Norton Motorcycles, the iconic British motorcycle brand owned by the company. Norton is expected to begin operations in India later this year, with the flagship Norton ManxR set to be the first model to arrive.

TVS is expected to manufacture the ManxR's engine in India, while several critical components will continue to be sourced from the United Kingdom. The company is also preparing the Norton Atlas, a middleweight adventure bike likely to feature a 500cc twin-cylinder engine and to be manufactured entirely in India.
In addition, TVS Motor Company continues its successful partnership with BMW Motorrad. The recently launched BMW F 450 GS is being manufactured at TVS's Hosur facility, and a TVS-branded derivative based on the same platform is expected to follow in the near future.
