Spy Pics: TVS Apache RR 450 Spotted Testing For The First Time

A test mule of the upcoming TVS Apache RR 450 was spotted on public roads, marking the first time this motorcycle has been seen in India during development. This prototype is running with sharp bodywork and hardware similar to what we saw on the Tangent RR Concept last year.

The TVS Apache RR 450 is based on the new BMW-TVS 420 cc parallel-twin platform, a joint engineering effort between TVS and BMW Motorrad that underpins larger-capacity models planned by both brands and which will be first experienced on the BMW F 450 GS.

Design cues for the production RR 450 are expected to be influenced by the TVS Tangent RR concept first shown at EICMA 2025, which showcased a sharp fairing, sculpted tank and aero-oriented bodywork. Images of the test bike show a large single-piece front winglet and integrated tail lamps that reference these earlier concept design cues.

A video of the TVS Apache RR 450 test mule on Instagram reveals a sporty-oriented riding posture with a stepped seat, slightly rear-set foot pegs and clip-on style handlebars, although the posture is not as extreme as that on some full-race supersport machines. The test bike shows minimal body-colour panels, likely removed to allow engineers access to wiring and components during validation runs.

The spied TVS Apache RR 450 prototype's fairing appears to have revised vent shapes and panel cut lines compared with the Tangent RR concept. The tail section and rear cowl also appear reworked, with a sleeker profile and integrated rear indicators seen on the test unit.

Wheels on the test bike include a multi-spoke alloy design, and brake hardware at the front shows twin discs, although specific rotor sizes and brake specification details cannot be confirmed solely from the spy shots. Suspension components include an upside-down fork at the front, and the overall chassis layout appears consistent with a twin-spar frame configuration.

The engine visible on the test model is a liquid-cooled parallel-twin unit with casings and cooling hardware matching those seen on the BMW F 450 GS, on which the upcoming TVS platform is based. In the BMW application, this engine makes 47.6 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque.

There are no official reveal/launch dates currently available from TVS about the Apache RR 450 yet. However, the production RR 450 is expected to make a potential global debut at EICMA 2026 and an India launch at TVS MotoSoul in late 2026, with a possible ex-showroom price north of ₹4 lakh.
