Triumph Bonneville 400 Teased Ahead Of October 6 Reveal - What We Know So Far
Triumph has teased four new motorcycles ahead of their reveal tomorrow, including a retro roadster that will be the Triumph Bonneville 400. The launch of the Triumph Bonneville 400 is scheduled for 12 pm BST, which is 4:30 pm IST.
The teaser from Triumph also shows a sporty naked motorcycle and two adventure-style machines, which appear to be Street Triple and Tiger models. Exact identities and engine capacities remain unconfirmed.
Triumph Bonneville 400 - Design and Chassis
The Triumph Bonneville 400 gets right-way-up telescopic forks with gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers. The Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400 use a USD fork and a monoshock instead. The chassis and swingarm also look new, making it the most visually distinctive motorcycle in Triumph's Bajaj-built 350cc lineup.
The styling of the Triumph Bonneville 400 follows the larger Bonneville T100 and T120, with a teardrop fuel tank, swooping fenders, a flat bench seat, a circular headlamp and a long, low-mounted peashooter-style exhaust. Round mirrors, a chrome-finished rear grab rail, a broad rear fender, a compact tail lamp and wire-spoke wheels complete the traditional silhouette. Earlier spy shots also showed brushed-metal engine detailing and a wide single-piece seat.

Triumph Bonneville 400 - Engine and Rivals
In India, the Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to use the 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine in a relaxed state of tune, similar to the Speed T4's 29hp and 31Nm. International versions could retain the 398cc unit.
Bajaj handles the Triumph 400 range in India, and the motorcycles are built at its Pune plant for domestic and overseas markets. The 349cc engine is expected to help Bajaj price the Triumph Bonneville 400 retro roadster aggressively.
The Triumph Bonneville 400 will be the first Bajaj-Triumph model to directly take on the traditional retro roadster segment. Rivals for the Bonneville 400 include the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Bullet 350, along with the recently revised Honda CB350 lineup.
