Triumph Bonneville 350 Could Be The Most Powerful Rival To The Royal Enfield Classic 350
The upcoming Triumph Bonneville 350 could emerge as one of the most powerful rivals to the best-selling Royal Enfield Classic 350 in India. The new 350cc engine from Triumph is expected to be tuned to deliver smooth city performance while offering stronger top-end performance on highways.
Triumph Bonneville 350: The Most Powerful Rival of Classic 350?
Most retro motorcycles sold in India belong to the entry-level 350cc segment. These motorcycles are typically tuned for relaxed cruising and linear power delivery. However, the upcoming Bonneville 350 could offer a more engaging riding experience with stronger performance and acceleration.
New Identity, Same Character

Triumph Motorcycles has recently downsized its 398cc engine to a smaller 349cc unit by reducing the stroke length. This approach is expected to retain much of the engine's character while improving refinement and allowing for a broader range of tuning possibilities.
The new powertrain is likely to preserve the smooth and responsive nature associated with Triumph's modern single-cylinder engines while being better suited to the retro motorcycle segment.
Superior Performance Figures

The 349cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine is expected to offer performance figures that could place it among the strongest motorcycles in the 350cc category. Depending on the state of tune, it could produce around 29PS to 37PS of power and approximately 32Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
In comparison, Royal Enfield's 350cc motorcycles produce around 20PS and 27Nm of torque and are paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Our expectations is that the motorcycle could feature an engine tune similar to the Triumph Speed T4, for both usability and refinement.
Strong And Smooth Riding Experience
The Bonneville 350 is expected to deliver a strong yet smooth riding experience. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is widely appreciated for its relaxed character and predictable power delivery, especially during long-distance rides.

The upcoming Triumph, however, could combine strong low-end torque with better top-end performance, allowing for effortless highway cruising. The liquid-cooled engine, modern architecture, and 6-speed gearbox are also expected to contribute to lower vibrations and improved refinement.
If Triumph gets the tuning right, the Bonneville 350 could offer a unique blend of classic styling, everyday usability, and performance that sets it apart from traditional 350cc retro motorcycles.
