Triumph 350cc Bike Launch on April 6 – A New Rival To Royal Enfield 350?

Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch a new 350cc platform based on their 400cc Motorcycles on 6th April, 2026. This upcoming motorcycle will feature a lower-capacity engine with slight changes in power output. It has been developed to benefit from lower GST tax slabs under the proposed GST 2.0 reforms.

Triumph 350cc Bike Launch Expectations

The new 350cc platform is being developed in partnership with Bajaj and KTM, and this powertrain is expected to be shared across multiple brands. Here's what we can expect from the upcoming Triumph 350cc platform.

Engine and Performance

Although the new motorcycle will feature a smaller engine, it is likely to retain many of its core components. The power output is expected to be slightly reduced compared to the current model, which produces 31 PS of power and 36 Nm of torque.

The same 6-speed gearbox and slipper-assist clutch system are expected to be carried forward. However, the engine is likely to deliver a strong performance, potentially outperforming key competitors in the 350cc segment such as the Classic 350, Honda CB350, and Yezdi Roadster.

Premium Components

Several premium components from the existing model are expected to be retained. These include 43 mm USD forks, ride-by-wire throttle, mono-shock suspension, disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels, and tubeless tyres.

Technologies

Most of the existing features and technologies are expected to carry over to the new 350cc platform. These may include LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a distinctive rear LED setup, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and premium switchgear.

Additionally, some reports suggest that the instrument cluster could offer Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, switchable traction control, and call/SMS alerts-features already seen on rivals from Royal Enfield and Honda. A USB Type-C charging port could also be included.

No Name Change?

There are reports suggesting that the Speed 400 nameplate may continue to be used despite the reduced engine capacity. This would not be unusual, as motorcycles like the KTM RC 390, Bajaj Dominar, and NS 400Z use a 373cc engine while being marketed as 400cc models.

Pricing Expectations

The current Speed 400 is priced at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). With a smaller sub-350cc engine, the GST burden is expected to reduce, allowing Triumph to price the motorcycle more competitively.

We expect the new Triumph 350 to be priced at around ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). If this pricing becomes real, it could pose a significant challenge to Royal Enfield, as Triumph is also a heritage British motorcycle brand with a strong legacy.
