The Indian electric two-wheeler market witnessed remarkable growth in 2025, with a large number of commuter buyers shifting from conventional ICE scooters and motorcycles to EVs. According to an Autocar report, the electric two-wheeler segment grew by 11 per cent compared to 2024, with more than 95 per cent of total sales coming from electric scooters.
2025's Top Electric Two-Wheeler Brands in India
TVS Topples Ola's Dominance
For the past few years, Ola Electric dominated the EV scooter segment in India. However, for the first time, traditional manufacturer TVS Motor Company toppled Ola Electric and clinched the top spot in 2025.

The TVS iQube is extremely popular among urban users, especially families. TVS also emerged as the top EV seller for eight months in 2025 with around 23 per cent of the total market share. The brand narrowly missed the 3 lakh unit sales mark by a small margin.
Bajaj Emerges in Second
Another traditional manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, clinched second spot in 2025. Bajaj sells the Chetak EV scooter in India, a family-focused electric scooter similar to the TVS iQube. The Chetak EV is the electric version of the popular Chetak scooter, which was so popular in the country decades ago.

With the Ev Chetak, the company increased its market share to 21 per cent and recorded an impressive 39 per cent growth compared to 2024. Bajaj also crossed the 2.5 lakh sales milestone, despite production disruptions in the latter part of 2025 due to supply issues.
Ather Energy Grows Ahead
Indian startup Ather Energy climbed to the third position with a market share of around 16 per cent. In 2024, Ather held an 11 per cent share, and in 2025, it achieved both an increase in market share and a strong 59 per cent growth.

Ather also crossed the 2 lakh sales mark, with the Rizta family scooter accounting for more than 70 per cent of its sales. The Ather Rizta has quickly become one of India's most preferred family electric scooters thanks to its practicality, comfort, and range.
Ola Electric's Big Fall
For the first time in years, Ola Electric slipped to fourth place in the electric scooter market. The decline is mainly due to after-sales service issues, and Ola also failed to cross the 2 lakh annual sales milestone.

The Bengaluru-based EV company remains the only top manufacturer to offer a wide number of products, but its sales momentum has not been positive since January 2025. The company now holds a 15.57 per cent market share, dropping sharply from 35 per cent the previous year.
Hero Vida Shows Positive Growth
Hero MotoCorp's Vida electric division also recorded a strong sales performance, crossing the 1 lakh annual sales milestone in 2025. The Vida X2 is the most popular scooter from the brand, driving the company towards growth. Hero currently holds the fifth position in EV sales next to Ola Electric.

Hero Motocorp is the leader of the Indian two-wheeler market as it is the best-selling brand in 2025. Now they have started focusing on the EV segment with the Vida electric scooters and are expected to increase their market share in 2026.
