Top 10 Two-Wheelers May 2026: Splendor, Activa, Shine Lead The Sales Charts

India's top 10 best-selling two-wheelers together moved 12,68,886 units in May 2026, climbing from 11,76,627 units sold during the same month last year. This works out to a year-on-year gain of 92,259 units, or 7.84%.

The Hero Splendor and the Honda Activa held firm at the top of the table, continuing their long-running grip on the country's two-wheeler charts. The TVS iQube posted the sharpest year-on-year jump among the top 10 models, underlining the growing pull of electric scooters in urban India. At the other end, Hero HF Deluxe slipped the most, losing over 41,000 units compared to May 2025. Here is a closer look at how each of the top 10 two-wheelers performed in May 2026.

1. Hero Splendor

The Hero Splendor stayed at the top of the charts with 3,48,115 units sold in May 2026, against 3,10,335 units in May 2025. Sales of the Splendor rose by 37,780 units, a growth of 12.17%. The nation's most popular motorcycle alone commanded a 27.43% share of the combined volumes generated by the top 10 models.

Splendor's lead over second-placed Activa runs to well over a lakh units a month, a gap that has held for years. Low pricing, strong fuel efficiency and Hero's rural dealer network keep the motorcycle ahead of every other two-wheeler on sale in India.

2. Honda Activa

The Honda Activa held on to second place with 2,28,955 units sold in May 2026, up from 1,90,713 units a year earlier. Sales of the Activa grew by 38,242 units, up by 20.05%, and accounted for 18.04% of total sales among the top 10 models.

Activa's growth rate outpaced Splendor's, in line with the wider scooter segment's expansion in May 2026. Scooters as a category grew faster than motorcycles last month, and Activa captured the bulk of that demand.

3. Honda Shine

The Honda Shine took the third spot with 1,55,441 units in May 2026. Sales dipped slightly from 1,58,271 units in May 2025, a decline of 2,830 units or 1.79%. Shine's share of the top 10 pool stood at 12.25%.

The Honda Shine remains one of the few models in the top 10 to register a year-on-year drop, though the dip was small compared to the steeper falls posted by the Hero HF Deluxe. The 125cc commuter motorcycle still draws steady demand even as scooters gain ground in the same price bracket.

4. TVS Jupiter

The TVS Jupiter posted sales of 1,24,767 units in May 2026, up from 97,606 units in May 2025. That is a jump of 27,161 units or 27.83% growth, which was one of the strongest among the top 10 models for May 2026.

The TVS Jupiter held its position as India's second best-selling scooter after Activa. Total scooter sales rose 27.38% year-on-year in May 2026, and Jupiter's growth rate tracked that segment-wide surge closely.

5. Bajaj Pulsar

The Bajaj Pulsar range accounted for 1,24,270 units sold in May 2026, against the 1,22,151 units in May 2025. The Pulsar lineup added 2,119 units, a growth of 1.73% YoY, and held a 9.79% share among the top 10 two-wheelers.

Pulsar's sales stayed close to flat year-on-year, but the range still holds fifth spot overall and it remains the highest-placed sporty motorcycle lineup currently on sale in India.

6. Suzuki Access

Suzuki Access recorded 75,729 units in May 2026, almost identical to the 75,778 units sold in May 2025. The marginal decline of 49 units worked out to a 0.06% drop, with a 5.97% share of total volumes.

The Suzuki Access has held a near-identical sales figure for two straight years now, even as rivals Jupiter and iQube posted double-digit growth in the same period. The scooter retains a loyal buyer base built over more than a decade in the market.

7. Hero HF Deluxe

Hero HF Deluxe witnessed the steepest fall in the top 10 list, with sales dropping to 66,722 units in May 2026 from 1,07,768 units in May 2025. That is a decline of 41,046 units, or 38.09%, with a 5.26% share of total sales.

The drop in sales pushed the Hero HF Deluxe to seventh position from a much stronger showing a year earlier. Entry-level motorcycle buyers appear to be shifting toward scooters and electric two-wheelers, a trend visible across several models lower down the chart.

8. TVS Apache

The TVS Apache lineup recorded 53,900 units in May 2026, up from 49,099 units in May 2025. The performance motorcycle range gained 4,801 units, a growth of 9.78%, and held a 4.25% share of the top 10 volumes.

Apache posted its fourth straight month of year-on-year growth, holding onto its spot as one of the few pure motorcycle nameplates on this list to add volume rather than lose it.

9. TVS XL

The TVS XL sold 48,569 units in May 2026, up sharply from 37,264 units in May 2025. That is a gain of 11,305 units, or 30.34% growth, giving it a 3.83% share among the top 10 two-wheelers of May 2026.

The TVS XL's growth matched the moped segment's overall 30.34% year-on-year rise in May 2026. The TVS XL continues to sell well in rural and semi-urban markets for daily commuting and light load carrying.

10. TVS iQube

TVS iQube logged the highest growth in the top 10 list, with sales rising to 42,192 units in May 2026 from 27,642 units in May 2025. That is a growth of 52.64%, the highest on this list, with a 3.33% share of total volumes.

The TVS iQube's 52.64% growth rate was more than double that of any motorcycle in the top 10. Electric scooter demand in India's cities has climbed steadily through 2026, and iQube's numbers reflect that shift directly.
