Top 10 Best-Selling Scooters In India (April 2026): Activa Leads, Destini Surges 489%

India's scooter segment posted a robust April 2026, with combined sales of the top 10 models reaching 5,94,443 units. That marks a 22.2% year-on-year jump over the 4,86,363 units retailed in April 2025, reflecting sustained urban demand and growing electric scooter adoption.

Total scooter sales across all models stood at 6.91 lakh units for the month, a 26.2% YoY increase. The broader two-wheeler market also expanded sharply, with overall volumes rising to 18.72 lakh units, up 28.4% over April 2025's 14.58 lakh units.

1. Honda Activa - 2,20,774 Units

The Honda Activa lineup retained its commanding lead with 2,20,774 units sold in April 2026, up 13.3% YoY (+25,987 units) from 1,94,787 units in April 2025. The Activa captured a 37.1% share of the top 10 scooter sales list, underlining its unassailable position in the segment.

2. TVS Jupiter - 1,17,383 Units

The TVS Jupiter lineup held second place with 1,17,383 units sold, up 14.4% YoY (+14,775 units) from 1,02,608 units in April 2025. The Jupiter lineup accounted for nearly 20% of the top 10 scooter sales pie, and it continues to be the strongest challenger to Activa's dominance.

3. Suzuki Access - 70,339 Units

Suzuki Access secured the third spot with 70,339 units, up 8% YoY (+5,210 units) from 65,129 units in April 2025. The 125cc scooter continues to be one of the most popular options in its segment.

4. TVS iQube - 37,193 Units

The TVS iQube lineup posted 37,193 units in April 2026, up a strong 34.7% YoY (+9,581 units) from 27,612 units in April 2025. The iQube's broad variant lineup with a range of battery packs and variants and its expanding availability continue to help it be the best-selling electric two-wheeler in the country.

5. Bajaj Chetak - 34,304 Units

The expanded Bajaj Chetak lineup delivered one of the standout performances of the month with 34,304 units sold, a massive 78.5% YoY surge (+15,086 units) from the 19,218 units in April 2025. Bajaj recently updated the Chetak range's nomenclature alongside a power upgrade, and with petrol prices surging, we expect the demand for the Chetak to increase.

6. TVS Ntorq - 33,994 Units

The TVS Ntorq lineup continued its strong run in the sporty scooter space with 33,994 units sold, up 33.9% YoY (+8,607 units) from 25,387 units in April 2025. The sporty TVS Ntorq scooter's consistent volume growth has made it a cornerstone of TVS's two-wheeler portfolio.

7. Hero Destini - 25,861 Units

The Hero Destini was the month's biggest story, with sales rocketing to 25,861 units from just 4,393 units in April 2025, an extraordinary 488.7% YoY jump (+21,468 units) year-over-year. The arrival of the updated Destini 125 and the new Destini 110 has clearly unlocked a fresh wave of demand for Hero's commuter scooter.

8. Suzuki Burgman Street - 19,337 Units

TheSuzuki Burgman Street was the only notable decliner in the top 10, slipping 16.1% YoY (-3,713 units) to 19,337 units from 23,050 units in April 2025. The dip is notable given that the Burgman Street recently received a facelift.

9. Ather Rizta - 17,960 Units

The Ather Rizta accounted for 17,960 units sold, up a sharp 78.7% YoY (+7,909 units) from 10,051 units in April 2025. The family-oriented EV continues to find takers in urban markets as Ather expands its retail presence across the nation.

10. Yamaha RayZR - 17,298 Units

The Yamaha RayZR rounded out the top 10 with 17,298 units, up approximately 22% YoY (+3,119 units) from 14,179 units in April 2025. The stylish 125cc scooter retains a loyal urban buyer base and closed out a strong month for the segment on a positive note.
