Top 10 Electric Scooters August 2026 - Chetak iQube And Vida Lead

Electric scooter sales in India reached 1,88,714 units in August 2026, up from 81,681 units in the same month last year. This marks growth of 131.04%, an addition of 1,07,033 units. All models with a year-ago base recorded gains, while five entries had no comparable volumes in August 2025.

Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube together accounted for 95,130 units, or 50.41% of the combined total. Chetak's 52,248 units reflected a 272.83% jump from 14,014 units a year earlier, its gain of 38,234 units the largest absolute increase in the list and nearly 36% of the overall growth.

Bajaj Chetak recorded 52,248 units in August 2026, up 272.83% from 14,014 units in August 2025. The increase of 38,234 units was the largest absolute gain among all electric scooters on the list, contributing nearly 36% of the combined YoY growth.

2. TVS iQube - 42,882 units

The TVS iQube lineup posted 42,882 units in August 2026, up 75.50% from 24,434 units a year earlier. The scooter added 18,448 units, holding a 22.72% share of the combined growth.

3. Hero Vida - 25,558 units

Hero Vida logged 25,558 units, more than doubling its year-ago tally of 12,273 units. Growth stood at 108.25%, giving the range a 13.54% share of the total volume.

4. Ather Rizta - 22,586 units

Ather Rizta secured fourth position with 22,586 units, up 30.22% from 17,344 units in August 2025. The scooter held an 11.97% share of the combined electric scooter sales.

5. TVS Orbiter - 14,641 units

TVS Orbiter registered 14,641 units in August 2026, with no comparable sales recorded in the year-ago period. Combined with iQube, TVS's tally in the list rose to 57,523 units, higher than Chetak's standalone volume.

6. Ampere Magnus - 9,772 units

Ampere Magnus posted 9,772 units, nearly doubling from 4,924 units in August 2025. The 98.46% growth translated to an additional 4,848 units.

7. Ather 450 - 6,891 units

Ather 450 recorded 6,891 units, up 27.30% from 5,413 units a year earlier. The gain of 1,478 units gave it a 3.65% share of total volumes.

8. River Indie - 6,567 units

River Indie posted 6,567 units, a 194.62% jump from 2,229 units in August 2025. Its addition of 4,338 units gave it a 3.48% share of the segment.

9. Ampere Reo - 1,911 units

Ampere Reo recorded 1,911 units, up 271.79% from 514 units a year earlier. The gain of 1,397 units gave it a 1.01% share of the sales in the Indian electric scooter market in August 2026.

10. Honda QC1 - 1,902 units

Honda QC1 logged 1,902 units in August 2026, with no volumes recorded in the corresponding month last year.

Beyond the top 10, Bajaj Yulu stood at 1,500 units, up from 150 units a year earlier, registering the highest percentage increase in the table at 900%. Ampere Nexus more than doubled to 756 units, up 106.56%. Suzuki e-Access recorded 668 units, followed by Yamaha EC-06 at 475 units and the recently launched Ather Konarc at 217 units, all three against a zero base in August 2025. Honda Activa e: closed the list with 140 units, up from 20 units.

Five new entries joined the electric scooter space in the past 12 months, together contributing 17,903 units, led overwhelmingly by the Orbiter. Most of the overall increase, however, came from existing models, particularly Chetak, iQube and Vida. Their combined gain of 69,967 units accounted for approximately 65% of the total growth in August 2026.
