Suzuki Developing New 350cc Motorcycle For India? Royal Enfield Rival Incoming

Suzuki is reportedly preparing to enter the premium middle-weight motorcycle segment in India with a new 350cc motorcycle that is expected to rival popular models from Royal Enfield. This move could mark a significant expansion of Suzuki's product portfolio in one of the fastest-growing motorcycle categories in the country.

Suzuki Developing New 350cc Motorcycle

The Japanese automaker already has a strong presence in the Indian two-wheeler market, where it sells a wide range of scooters and commuter motorcycles. In the premium segment, Suzuki currently offers models such as the Suzuki V-Strom SX, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. However, the company does not yet have a product in the highly competitive 350cc retro motorcycle category.

Speculation about Suzuki developing an all-new 350cc platform has been reported several times. The company further confirmed these reports during EICMA 2025, where it indicated that it was considering middle-weight retro motorcycles for markets in Europe and Asia, including India.

The 350cc motorcycle segment in India is currently dominated by Royal Enfield, with best-selling models such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Other major competitors include Triumph Motorcycles and KTM, both of which manufacture their smaller-capacity motorcycles in India to maintain competitive pricing.

In addition to these brands, manufacturers such as Jawa, Yezdi and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India also offer several motorcycles in the 350cc segment. This makes the category one of the most competitive in the Indian market, and entering it will not be an easy task for Suzuki.

However, Suzuki already has a well-established dealer network and a manufacturing facility in India. Local production could help the company keep costs under control and price its upcoming 350cc motorcycle aggressively. If launched, the new model would give Indian buyers another compelling option in the increasingly popular mid-size retro motorcycle segment.
