Suzuki e-Access Electric Scooter Launched: Key Reasons To Consider It
Suzuki has introduced a new electric variant of its most popular scooter, the Suzuki Access. This electric scooter marks the brand's official entry into the electric two-wheeler segment. The e-Access may appear underwhelming due to its battery capacity and claimed range. Here are the key reasons to consider this e-scooter for daily commutes.
1. Maintenance Free
Suzuki has announced that the e-Access uses a maintenance-free belt drive that can easily last up to 70,000 km or seven years. During this period, there is no need for lubrication or adjustment, as the belt can operate under any conditions. This significantly reduces the overall maintenance costs of the vehicle, while making ownership more affordable.
2. Smart Features
The e-Access is equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT colour display with Bluetooth connectivity. It supports turn-by-turn navigation via the Suzuki Ride Connect app, along with keyless entry and a remote locking feature, enhancing convenience and everyday usability.
3. Flexible and Fast Charging
The electric scooter supports fast charging through Suzuki's fast-charging points, where it can charge from 0 to 80% in just 1 hour and 12 minutes. Suzuki also provides an AC home charger, which can charge the scooter from 0 to 100% in 6.5 hours, making home charging easy and practical.
4. Multiple Riding Modes
The Suzuki e-Access comes with the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e), offering multiple riding modes to suit different needs. The Eco mode maximises range by limiting the top speed to 55 km/h. The Ride A is a balanced mode for daily commuting, while the Ride B delivers maximum performance, including Regenerative braking. Finally, the Reverse mode helps manoeuvre the scooter easily in tight parking spaces.
5. Practical Features and Tech
Practical features include a USB charging port, multifunction starter switch, tip-over sensors, auto-ready start function, seat lock, under-seat helmet storage, multiple hooks, full LED lighting with position lamps, a hazard switch, and front disc brakes for confident braking performance.
