Suzuki Burgman 400 Surprises Fans At Matsuri Mumbai– India Launch On The Cards?
Suzuki has showcased its international-spec Suzuki Burgman 400 at the Suzuki Matsuri annual event in Mumbai. The presence of this global-spec scooter has sparked speculation about a possible launch in the Indian market.
Recently, Suzuki launched the updated Suzuki Burgman Street 125 with a revised design and updated styling elements. Prior to that, based on teaser campaigns, many enthusiasts had speculated that Suzuki would finally introduce the Burgman 400 in India.

However, the company continued with the standard Burgman Street 125 instead of bringing the higher-capacity model. Now, Suzuki has surprised enthusiasts by showcasing the Burgman 400 maxi-scooter in Mumbai.
Suzuki Burgman 400 Showcased In Mumbai
Suzuki's annual Matsuri motorcycle festival, now in its second edition, was recently held in Mumbai. The Burgman 400 was displayed at the event, generating excitement among enthusiasts eager to see a premium maxi-scooter in India.

The Burgman 400 has been on sale in international markets for several years. By showcasing it in India, Suzuki has reignited speculation about a potential launch in the country.
India already has a niche premium scooter segment with models like the BMW C 400 GT. The Burgman 400 could serve as a strong alternative in this space. If priced competitively, it could offer better value for money, considering the BMW is priced above ₹11.25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Burgman 400 could be expected around ₹7 lakh (ex-showroom).

Suzuki Burgman 400 Features
The Burgman 400 features dual LED headlamps, traction control, dual-channel ABS, triple disc brakes (two at the front and one at the rear), a 15-inch front wheel and 13-inch rear wheel, and a link-type rear suspension with preload adjustment.
It is powered by a 400cc single-cylinder DOHC engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission, producing up to 31 PS of power and 37 Nm of peak torque. Enthusiasts are keen to see this scooter launched in the Indian market.
Ultimately, it remains up to Suzuki to decide whether to introduce this model in India. If launched, it could expand the premium scooter segment and encourage other manufacturers to enter the space. Even domestic brands like Hero MotoCorp and TVS Motor Company could bring more powerful scooters in the future.
