Steelbird SB-120 Launched At ₹3,999 - DOT, ECE, ISI Certified, 4 Shell Sizes, 4 Finishes
Indian helmet manufacturer Steelbird Helmets has launched the SB-120 full-face helmet in India, priced at ₹3,999 for the mono-colour variant and ₹4,499 for the decal finish. The lid carries triple certification: ECE R22.06, DOT FMVSS 218 and ISI IS 4151:2015, a certification stack more commonly seen on helmets costing significantly more.
Steelbird SB-120 Launched: Exterior Highlights
The shell of the Steelbird SB-120 is polymer with fibreglass reinforcement, keeping the weight at 1,500 grams (plus or minus 50 grams). Four shell sizes are available - 540mm, 560mm, 580mm and 590mm - with four finish options: glossy, matte, decal and carbon-fibre pattern. The carbon-fibre finish is a visual treatment, not an actual carbon shell.

A rear spoiler is integrated into the profile of the SB-120 for airflow management at highway speeds, which is relevant for commuters and weekend tourers alike. The Steelbird SB-120 also ships with a genuine Pinlock 30 anti-fog insert, a practical inclusion for monsoon riding and cold mornings.
Steelbird SB-120 Launched: Interior & Retention
Inside, the helmet gets breathable mesh lining, ventilation channels and removable, washable cheek pads. A quick-release cheek pad system is included specifically for first-responder access in emergencies. A tinted inner sun visor handles daytime glare without a visor swap.
To help keep the helmet on your head when on the move, Steelbird offers both Double D-Ring and Micrometric Buckle systems on the SB-120. Riders opting for the Steelbird SB-120 can choose the retention method based on their preference.
Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director, Steelbird Helmets, said: "With the SB-120, we wanted to combine premium styling, such as a carbon-pattern finish, with globally certified safety, while keeping it accessible for Indian riders. Building on the strong trust in our Fighter series, this launch marks a strategic step forward with ECE 22.06 certification, aligning us with global safety standards while continuing to deliver greater value without increasing the price."
