Simple Wave Launched At Rs 1.10 Lakh: 243km Range

Bangalore-based two-wheeler EV manufacturer Simple Energy has launched the Wave, its new family electric scooter, at a starting price of Rs 1,09,999(ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The Simple Wave is offered in four variants split by battery capacity, with IDC-certified range going up to 243km on the top-spec model.

Deliveries of the Simple Wave begin from 25 September 2026. Simple hasn't revealed pricing for the higher variants yet, but it has stated that the delivery date applies across the range.

Simple Wave: Battery, Motor and Range

The base Simple Wave S variant comes with two battery options, a 2.2kWh pack good for 110km of IDC range and a 2.7kWh pack rated at 132km. The mid-spec Wave gets a 3.7kWh battery with 171km of range, while the top-spec Wave+ uses a 5kWh battery for a claimed 243km, the highest in its segment.

The motor has been updated to a third-generation 6.4kW unit, with the Battery Management System also revised and the motor's overall size cut by 15 percent over the previous generation.

Simple Wave: Design, Storage and Features

Total storage stands at 70 litres. The underseat compartment accounts for 63 litres, a cubby on the front apron adds three litres, and a quick-access pocket on the left side of the seat, called Pill Storage, holds another four litres. A matching pocket for the right side is offered as an accessory.

Simple has moved to a sleeker design inspired by the Dolphin, a shift from the One range's sharper, air-inspired styling. The 7-inch TFT instrument cluster comes standard on the Wave+, while the WaveS and Wave variants can be specified with either the TFT unit or an InfinityBlack LCD cluster.

The WaveS gets three ride modes, EcoX, Eco and Ride, with a top speed of 75kph. The Wave and Wave+ add a Sports mode and raise the top speed to 90kph. Colour choices scale with battery size: two shades for the 2.2kWh variant, four for the 2.7kWh, and six each for the 3.7kWh and 5kWh variants.

Simple Wave: Suspension, Brakes & Dimensions

The Simple Wave is built on an updated version of the One platform. Suspension duties are handled by a twin-shock setup at the rear, replacing the One's monoshock, and the seat stretches to 920mm, claimed to be the longest on any scooter sold in the country. Seat height has come down by 5mm to 775mm compared to the One, while ground clearance has gone up by 3mm to 175mm.

The Simple Wave swaps the One's rear disc for a rear drum brake, though Combined Braking System is standard across all four variants. GripSense traction control, standard on the One range, is limited to the higher Wave variants.

With prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh, the Simple Wave lines up against the Ather Konarc, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida and TVS iQube, with its range advantage as the biggest differentiator in the segment.
