Simple Wave Electric Family Scooter Set To Launch On September 2
Bangalore-based EV manufacturer Simple Energy has confirmed the name of its upcoming family electric scooter as the Wave, with the launch scheduled for September 2, 2026. The Simple Wave was previously referred to as the Arrive through its testing and development phase.
The Simple Wave will sit below the Simple One range and is aimed at buyers seeking a more affordable, practicality-focused scooter. The brand is pushing into tier-2 and tier-3 cities as part of the launch strategy or the Simple Wave.

Simple Wave - Design & Underpinnings
The Wave gets a boxier design with more practical touches than the sportier One. It gets a larger seat for improved rider and pillion comfort, along with a more spacious floorboard.
The Simple Wave shares its underlying platform with the One, though with notable mechanical changes. Test mules have used a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, replacing the One's monoshock setup. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and a rear drum. Prototypes spied testing earlier were also spotted with a TFT instrument cluster.
The Simple Wave marks Simple Energy's first move into the mainstream family scooter segment, expanding beyond the performance-focused One lineup. Once launched, it will compete against family-oriented electric scooters such as the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, TVS Orbiter and the Bajaj Chetak.
Simple Energy currently operates 75 dealerships across India and plans to expand this to 150-200 outlets by the end of the current fiscal year, supporting the Wave's push into smaller cities. The Bangalore-based EV company is also expanding the capacity at its production facility in Hosur to 12,000 units a month as it looks to meet the upcoming demand for the Wave.
Technology and What's Next
Simple Energy says the Wave has been developed using in-house R&D, including proprietary software and vehicle technologies and the firm also claims that it is commercially manufacturing heavy rare earth-free electric motors.
Battery capacity, motor output, claimed range, charging specifications, variants and pricing have not been revealed yet for the Simple Wave. These details, along with the Wave's full specifications will be revealed at Simple Energy's September 2 launch event for the family scooter.
