Royal Enfield Announces New Manufacturing Facility In Andhra Pradesh

Royal Enfield has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility and vendor park in Andhra Pradesh. This will become Royal Enfield's first production facility outside Tamil Nadu, where the brand has been manufacturing motorcycles since 1955.

Royal Enfield New Plant in Andhra Pradesh

The upcoming facility will be spread across 276 acres in the villages of Vanelluru and Rallakuppam in the Satyavedu region of Tirupati district. The project has already received approval from the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board and is expected to play a major role in strengthening the state's automotive manufacturing ecosystem.

The development will take place in two phases. In the first phase, Royal Enfield will establish a dedicated vendor park, which is targeted for completion by 2029. This vendor ecosystem will support the company's supply chain by bringing component manufacturers and ancillary units closer to the production facility.

The second phase will involve the construction and commissioning of the main manufacturing plant, which is expected to become fully operational by 2032. Once completed, the new plant will add an annual production capacity of 9 lakh motorcycles.

This is a substantial increase over Royal Enfield's current installed capacity of approximately 15 lakh units per year, significantly enhancing the company's ability to meet growing demand in both domestic and international markets.

The project is also expected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. These jobs will be created not only within the factory itself but also across supporting operations such as logistics, vendor development and ancillary industries.

The investment was confirmed by Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Information Technology and Electronics, Nara Lokesh. According to him, the project aligns with the state government's broader strategy to attract large-scale industrial investments and establish Andhra Pradesh as a major automotive manufacturing hub.

This expansion represents an important milestone for Royal Enfield as it continues to grow its global presence. With demand for its motorcycles increasing steadily across India and in overseas markets, the new Andhra Pradesh facility will provide the additional capacity needed to support the brand's long-term ambitions.
