Royal Enfield Opens Registrations For 22nd Himalayan Odyssey Across Ladakh
Royal Enfield has officially announced the 22nd edition of the iconic Himalayan Odyssey for 2026 which celebrates its 125th anniversary. Widely regarded as one of India's most legendary motorcycle expeditions, the Himalayan Odyssey has, for over two decades, represented the ultimate test of endurance, adventure, and pure motorcycling spirit across the rugged terrains of the Himalayas.
For 2026, Royal Enfield is introducing a major evolution to the Himalayan Odyssey format by expanding the experience into four distinct riding categories. The company says this new structure has been designed to cater to different riding styles and experience levels while still preserving the essence of the legendary Ladakh expedition. Registrations for the event are now officially open through Royal Enfield's website.

The four formats for Himalayan Odyssey 2026 include the Himalayan Odyssey Original, Explore, Kargil Circuit, and Nubra Circuit editions. Each route offers a unique experience through the Himalayan region, allowing riders to choose journeys that match their riding preferences and adventure expectations.

The Himalayan Odyssey Original remains the flagship expedition and will take place from June 25 to July 10, 2026. This 16-day ride begins and ends in Chandigarh while covering challenging terrains across Himachal Pradesh, Zanskar, and Ladakh.
Royal Enfield describes it as the purest expression of the Himalayan Odyssey experience, combining long-distance touring, high-altitude passes, and disciplined group riding. Meanwhile, the new Himalayan Odyssey Explore edition, scheduled from June 26 to July 5, 2026, has been designed for riders seeking a more raw and self-reliant adventure.
Unlike the fully supported Original format, the Explore edition will involve limited support and self-carried gear, making it a more demanding and immersive riding experience through remote mountain terrains.

Royal Enfield has also introduced the Kargil Circuit and Nubra Circuit routes, both scheduled from June 29 to July 5, 2026. These shorter formats start from Leh and focus more on cultural immersion and regional exploration rather than outright endurance.
According to the company, these circuits are intended for riders who wish to experience the Himalayas at a slower pace while connecting more deeply with local landscapes, heritage, and communities.
Over the years, the Himalayan Odyssey has grown into one of the most aspirational motorcycle expeditions in the country. Spanning over 2,200 kilometres, the route covers some of the world's highest motorable passes including Khardung La and Umling La. Beyond the challenging roads, the event has become known for the camaraderie, shared experiences, and emotional connection riders develop during the journey.
Royal Enfield will also continue its sustainability initiative under the #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter campaign. The company remains focused on promoting responsible travel practices by reducing environmental impact, discouraging single-use plastics, and supporting local Himalayan communities. The initiative was first introduced during previous Himalayan Odyssey editions and has since become a core part of the expedition's identity.
With the introduction of multiple riding formats and a renewed focus on experiential motorcycling, Himalayan Odyssey 2026 is expected to attract a broader range of adventure riders from across the country. For many enthusiasts, the event continues to represent far more than a motorcycle ride - it remains a once-in-a-lifetime journey through some of the most breathtaking and demanding landscapes in the world.
