Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Battery, Motor, & Performance
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 154 km. The battery pack's casing as well as that of the motor of the Flying Flea C6 are encased together, with the "fins" for the battery pack made out of lightweight magnesium.
Speaking of the Flying Flea C6's battery, it sends power to a mid-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces a peak output of 20.65bhp (15.4 kW) (10.7bhp - 8kW nominal power) and 60 Nm of peak torque, which is sent to the rear wheel via a belt drive setup. Royal Enfield claims a 0-60 km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds for the Flying Flea C6, with a top speed of 115 km/h (claimed).
On the charging front, Royal Enfield claims a full 0-100 per cent charge of the Flying Flea C6's battery pack will take 2 hours and 16 minutes. Meanwhile, a 20-80 per cent top-up takes approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. Notably, the rider can also choose the charging speed via the mobile app when plugging into the onboard charger from a 15A socket.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Design, Chassis, and Features
Royal Enfield has built the Flying Flea C6 to be as light and narrow as possible, to ensure the least possible rolling resistance and reduce weight, to help maximise range. The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 tips the scales at just 124 kg and rides on slim 90-section tyres fitted to 19-inch wheels at both ends.
Seat height for the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 stands at 823 mm, though the slim profile of the bike should make flat-footing accessible for most riders. Ground clearance is a substantial 207mm, which should be enough to deal with most potholes on our nation's roads.
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6's suspension setup includes a girder fork at the front (something not seen for decades on any bike. The Flying Flea C6 features disc brakes on both ends, along with dual-channel ABS with the option to disable the rear channel.
The Flying Flea C6's instrument cluster is a circular 3.5-inch colour TFT display paired with new dedicated switchgear. The riding aids package includes five riding modes - City, Rain, Highway, Sport, and Custom - along with lean-sensitive traction control and adjustable regenerative braking.
Speaking on the launch of the Flying Flea C6, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director - Eicher Motors Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer - Royal Enfield, said, "We are excited to introduce the Flying Flea C6, marking our first step into electric motorcycling in our 125th year - a milestone that reflects both our legacy and our intent for new beginnings. For over a century, Royal Enfield has been driven by a singular pursuit: to create pure, engaging motorcycling experiences. With Flying Flea, we are carrying this philosophy into the electric era. This is not just about going electric- it is about creating a new category of urban mobility that is rooted in experience, not just specifications or numbers. The FF.C6 has been built by a dedicated team with deep in-house expertise across hardware and software, resulting in an agile, design and technology-led motorcycle that feels intuitive, connected, and alive to the rider. For the launch of FF.C6, we are taking a steady, city-by-city approach and will initially roll it out in phases. With Flying Flea we are not just introducing a motorcycle, we are shaping the future of riding and welcoming a new generation of riders into the world of Royal Enfield. We have a strong pipeline of electric two-wheelers that will continue to build on our vision over time."
DriveSpark's Thoughts On The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6
At Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is priced above every 350cc motorcycle the company currently sells, as well as the Guerrilla 450. And with it being RE's first-ever EV, we feel that the Flying Flea C6 is just a tad bit too expensive.
In the electric motorcycle space, the Ultraviolette F77 and X47 with smaller battery packs sit in a similar price bracket, while the Raptee T30 is less expensive by about ₹40k. However, a direct comparison between these models and the Flying Flea C6 would not be straightforward, given the significant differences in both concept and character.
And while the pricing and the IDC range may not make the Flying Flea C6 what many fans of the marque were expecting of Royal Enfield's first-ever electric motorcycle. Along with its pricing and range, the Flying Flea C6's, well, unique design may not make it every rider's cup of tea, but it may just be distinct enough to get a whole new crop of riders into the saddle of a Royal Enfield, as it steps into the electric era.
