Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Arriving — Bigger Engine, Global Push

Royal Enfield is could debut the production-ready Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 by 2026, with a market launch likely to follow in early 2027. The GT twins remain among the brand's most popular motorcycles both in India and global markets, and the upcoming model is expected to feature a more powerful 750cc engine derived from the existing platform.

Royal Enfield Upcoming 750 GT

The iconic motorcycle manufacturer is currently developing a new 750cc platform. Prototype models based on this architecture, including the Himalayan 750 ADV and a Continental GT 750, were showcased at the EICMA 2025 motorcycle show. Enthusiasts were thrilled to see the new 750cc bikes at the event, with the production model likely to be revealed this year.

Strong demand for 650 twins is believed to have encouraged expansion into a higher-capacity platform, which could appeal to both domestic and global markets. These new 750cc models could also position Royal Enfield as one of the best brands in the Mid-level Motorcycle segment globally.

650 Twins to remain

Importantly, the current 650cc twins are expected to continue alongside the new 750cc models. While the larger 750cc platform may appeal more strongly to international buyers, the 650cc motorcycles are likely to remain popular among Indian customers due to their balanced performance and accessibility.

The 650cc lineup could also receive minor updates, including refreshed colour schemes, tweaks to suspension setup, and ergonomic improvements such as revised handlebars. Strong ongoing demand has reportedly led the company to shelve earlier plans to discontinue these models.

Currently, the Continental GT is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin oil-cooled engine producing around 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and signature twin exhausts. The upcoming 750cc version is expected to deliver higher power and torque figures while retaining its café racer character.

750cc GT Expectations

The new 750cc model has been spotted overseas, featuring twin front disc brakes, a single-pod instrument cluster similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and a slightly more compact design. A production-ready version could debut at EICMA 2026.

We are also awaiting the upcoming Himalayan 750 Adventure Motorcycle. Despite increased taxation on motorcycles with engines above 350cc in India, Royal Enfield appears to be focusing on strengthening its global presence in the mid-capacity premium motorcycle segment.
