Norton Atlas Series Unveiled: Top 5 Highlights Of The New 69bhp Twin-Cylinder ADV
Norton Motorcycles has officially unveiled the Atlas and Atlas GT globally, based on an all-new platform and powertrain. These motorcycles mark the first completely new products developed under the ownership of TVS Motor Company after taking over the iconic British brand.
Norton Atlas Series: Top 5 Highlights & Key Features
The Norton Atlas is positioned as a pure adventure-focused motorcycle, while the Atlas GT is designed as a more road-oriented sports tourer. Both motorcycles are expected to make their way to the Indian market later this year. Here are the key highlights and exclusive features of the new Norton Atlas series.
1. New 500cc Platform

The Norton Atlas lineup is built on a newly developed platform equipped with premium mechanical components and advanced technology. At its heart is a new 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 69bhp and 57.5Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The engine also features atmospheric plasma-coated cylinders for improved durability. A bi-directional quickshifter and slipper clutch further enhance gear shifts and overall riding comfort.
2. High-End Mechanical Components
Norton has tuned the chassis and suspension setup for maximum comfort, strength, and all-terrain capability. The Atlas gets premium 43mm KYB USD front forks and a rear monoshock with hydraulic preload adjustment, offering 180mm of suspension travel at both ends.

The road-focused Atlas GT gets a slightly lower 140mm travel setup for sharper on-road handling. The bikes are built around a lightweight high-strength trellis frame, helping keep the kerb weight down to just 188kg - impressive for a near-600cc motorcycle.
3. Sophisticated Technology
Technology is one of the strongest highlights of the Atlas series. It features one of the largest 8-inch TFT instrument displays in the segment, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, ride analytics, GoPro integration via the Norton Rider App, and OTA update support.

4. Superior Safety
For braking, the Atlas series uses a premium ByBre setup with twin 310mm semi-floating front discs and a 270mm rear disc. Safety features include Cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control, wheelie control, rear wheel slide control, drag torque control, and five riding modes - Urban, Rain, Sport, Tour, and Enduro.
5. Advanced Design And Styling
Both models feature a futuristic and aggressive design language with sharp body lines and premium detailing. They get twin projector LED headlamps with DRLs, a tall adjustable windscreen, a muscular fuel tank, a sharp tail section, and an upswept exhaust, giving them a strong road presence.
Other Details
Interestingly, both motorcycles are manufactured at TVS Motor Company's Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu, which could help Norton price them aggressively in India against rivals from Royal Enfield, KTM, and Kawasaki.
