Norton Atlas GT Spotted in India – TVS Prepares Big Launch This Year
Norton Motorcycles is set to enter the Indian market this year, with the Atlas GT expected to be its first offering. The motorcycle was recently spotted testing in India and will be manufactured locally in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Norton Atlas GT Spied Testing In India
The Atlas GT is nearing production as a road-focused motorcycle, while an adventure-oriented version, the Atlas ADV, is also in development. Norton, a brand with a rich legacy in motorcycling, is now owned by TVS Motor Company, which is driving its global revival.

The UK-based brand has already showcased its future lineup, including the Atlas and Manx series at the EICMA 2025 event. While the Atlas range will be manufactured in India, the larger 1200cc Manx models will be produced in the UK and imported into India.
Design and Hardware
The Atlas GT features dual projector LED headlamps with sleek LED DRLs positioned below. It also gets a tall windscreen, a sculpted fuel tank, and premium hardware including golden USD front forks and a rear monoshock with long travel.

Engine and Features
The motorcycle is expected to be powered by a 585cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled DOHC engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper-assist clutch.
Feature highlights are expected to include:
- Bi-directional quick shifter
- Cornering ABS
- Traction control
- Wheelie control
- Cruise control
- Keyless ignition
- 8-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation, and ride analytics

Future Plans
There are also speculations that Norton could introduce a retro-style motorcycle in India. This model is expected to share its powertrain with the BMW F 450 GS, which uses a 420cc parallel-twin engine.
These motorcycles will be positioned as premium Motorcycles and will target brands such as Royal Enfield, BMW, KTM, Harley Davidson, Ducati and Aprilia. TVS is also planning to expand Norton's retail presence in India by opening dedicated showrooms. Final specifications, pricing, and features will be revealed at launch, while after-sales support and pricing strategy will play a crucial role in the brand's success.
