Next-Gen Bajaj Pulsar Set To Launch On August 12 - New Chassis? Flex Fuel?

Bajaj Auto has confirmed it will launch the next-generation Bajaj Pulsar in India on August 12, sending out official invites for the reveal. The teaser carries the tagline "Twist Into An All-New Rush," hinting at a substantial update rather than a routine facelift.

Bajaj is celebrating 25 years of the Pulsar nameplate this year, and the company has not confirmed which model will lead the new generation. The Pulsar 150 is the strongest contender since it was the original model in the lineup, though MotorBeam reports the Pulsar 125 remains a possibility too.

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 was the first motorcycle to wear the Pulsar name when the brand launched 25 years ago, and it continues to draw strong demand even today. It is also the only model in the current lineup yet to receive a major generational update, unlike the N-series and NS-badged bikes that Bajaj has already modernised over the past few years.

What The Next-Gen Bajaj Pulsar Could Get

Reports suggest that the upcoming Pulsar will be built on an all-new platform and will not just be a cosmetic refresh. The new Pulsar 150 is expected to feature a new chassis, a revised engine, updated suspension and a longer feature list than the current model offers.

The next-gen Pulsar is also expected to gain a reworked design alongside changes aimed at ride comfort and everyday usability. There are also some rumours doing the rounds that Bajaj could use the update to introduce its first flex-fuel, E85-compliant Pulsar, in line with India's push toward alternative fuels.

The Pulsar 150 currently on sale in India is the performance brand's entry point and is powered by a 149.5cc single cylinder engine. The fuel injected, 2-valve, twin-spark, DTS-i powerplant pushes out 13.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm. The Pulsar 150 tips the scales at 148 kg and has a claimed top speed of 110 km/h. Prices for the Pulsar 150 currently start at Rs 1,11,108 ex-showroom.
