Next-Gen Bajaj Pulsar Launch Details Revealed: New Platform On The Way

Bajaj Auto is working on the next generation of its Pulsar Classic range, with the new motorcycles expected to make their debut around the late July, early August this year. The development was first reported by BikeWale, which also revealed that test mules of the upcoming models have already been spotted undergoing road tests.

The upcoming motorcycles are expected to replace the ageing Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 models that continue to form a significant part of Bajaj's commuter motorcycle portfolio. The new generation models are likely to receive substantial upgrades in terms of design, hardware and technology.

All-New Platform Under Development

According to BikeWale, the next-generation Pulsar Classic range will be based on an entirely new platform. Spy images suggest extensive changes underneath the bodywork, indicating that Bajaj is not merely carrying out a cosmetic update but developing a completely revised motorcycle architecture.

The new platform is expected to bring improvements in ride quality, handling and overall refinement. Reports indicate that Bajaj could introduce a monoshock rear suspension setup on the upcoming models, replacing the twin-shock arrangement currently used on the Pulsar Classic motorcycles.

Design To Retain Pulsar Identity

While the test motorcycle remains heavily camouflaged, it appears Bajaj will retain the familiar muscular stance that has defined the Pulsar range for more than two decades. The fuel tank shape, sporty proportions and aggressive styling cues are expected to remain part of the package.

The revised design could feature sharper body panels, redesigned lighting elements and updated graphics. These changes are likely to help the motorcycle appeal to younger buyers while preserving the recognisable Pulsar identity.

Feature List Set For Major Upgrade

The next-generation Pulsars are expected to receive several new features. Full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity are likely to be offered. Smartphone integration and turn-by-turn navigation could also become part of the package depending on the variant.

These additions would allow the Classic Pulsar range to compete more effectively with newer rivals in the commuter and premium commuter segments, where connected features are becoming increasingly common.

Engines Expected To Continue

Bajaj is expected to retain the existing 125cc and 150cc engine options for the new generation models. However, the powertrains could receive updates aimed at improving refinement, fuel efficiency and emissions compliance.

The company has already announced plans to expand the Pulsar lineup further in the coming years. The next-generation Bajaj Pulsar Classic range is expected to become one of the most significant updates to the Pulsar family and could help Bajaj strengthen its position in the highly competitive commuter motorcycle segment.
