New Bajaj & KTM 350cc Bikes Coming Soon – Prices Drop?
Bajaj Auto and KTM are developing a new 350cc motorcycle to adapt to the upcoming GST 2.0 tax regulations. These bikes will be based on their existing 400cc models and are expected to share several key components. They could also make their debut in April 2026, following the launch of the Triumph 350 series.
Bajaj & KTM 350cc Bikes Launch Timeline Revealed
KTM currently offers a 400cc lineup that includes the Duke 390, RC 390, and Adventure 390. Bajaj, on the other hand, sells the Pulsar NS400Z and Dominar 400, which are its most powerful motorcycles in this segment.

Last year, the Indian government introduced GST 2.0 reforms that increased the tax burden on motorcycles above 350cc. Models exceeding this threshold will attract a 40% GST, while those below 350cc benefit from a significantly lower 18% tax rate.
This creates a clear pricing advantage for sub-350cc motorcycles, making them more competitive in the market. Recognising this opportunity, Bajaj Auto has decided to work on a new sub-350cc engine based on its existing 399cc platform.
This engine is being jointly developed with Triumph and KTM and is expected to be ready for launch soon. The first model to use this new platform will be the Triumph 350, scheduled to launch on April 6.

Following this, KTM and Bajaj are also likely to introduce their respective 350cc motorcycles by mid-April. KTM is expected to lead with the Duke 350, while Bajaj could introduce the Pulsar NS350Z. Apart from the reduced engine capacity, most features are likely to be retained, including liquid cooling and other key components.
These motorcycles are expected to deliver performance with slight differences in power output. Ride quality and handling characteristics are likely to remain largely unchanged, preserving the overall character.
Once launched, these motorcycles could emerge as strong alternatives to popular 350cc offerings from Royal Enfield, such as the Classic 350 and the Bullet 350. With the advantage of lower GST, the competition has moved from performance and reliability to pricing, making the mid-premium motorcycle segment increasingly competitive for all brands.
