The Indian electric two-wheeler market recorded its highest-ever sales in March 2026. The approaching deadline of the PM E-DRIVE scheme initially prompted a surge in EV purchases. However, the government has now decided to extend the scheme until July 2026.

The EV two-wheeler segment continued to be dominated by established players like TVS and Bajaj, followed by Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp. Ola Electric has managed to reclaim the fifth position by overtaking Greaves Mobility. Here are the top EV two-wheeler brands in India for March 2026.
5. Ola Electric
After facing a sharp decline over the past few months, Ola Electric has made a positive comeback in March 2026. The brand had slipped to sixth position in February but has now reclaimed the fifth spot with sales of 10,117 units.
The PM E-DRIVE scheme, along with multiple offers from the company, helped boost sales despite a 57% year-on-year decline. Ola Electric is expected to carry this renewed momentum into the coming months.
4. Hero Vida
Hero MotoCorp-owned Vida has recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in March 2026. The company sold a total of 21,434 units, marking a 128% growth compared to March 2025, when it sold just 8,039 units.
The brand has also introduced a new Knight Edition of its VX2 Plus electric scooter, inspired by the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise, featuring exclusive decals and a themed design. Hero is also the only manufacturer in the top 5 brands to bring swappable batteries.
3. Ather Energy
One of the fastest-growing EV startups in India, Ather Energy has demonstrated consistent sales growth over the years. The brand has built strong trust and reliability among consumers with its premium, high-quality products.
Its family-oriented scooter, the Ather Rizta, has gained significant popularity among urban buyers. Ather recorded total sales of 35,688 units, achieving 128% growth in the EV segment. This also marks the first time the company has crossed the 30,000 monthly sales milestone in India.
2. Bajaj Chetak
Bajaj continues to hold the second position in the EV market with its Chetak electric scooters. This neo-retro offering blends nostalgic design with modern electric mobility. Notably, it remains one of the few scooters in India with a metal body, offering excellent build quality and durability.
The brand delivered 46,246 units in March 2026, marking its highest-ever monthly sales. Bajaj has also introduced a more affordable C2501 variant, priced competitively against ICE scooters while offering a modern design and features.
1. TVS Motor Company
TVS Motor Company leads the EV two-wheeler segment in India, driven by the strong performance of its iQube, X, and other electric offerings. The company recorded total sales of 49,304 units in March 2026, reflecting a 60% year-on-year growth compared to 2025.
The introduction of Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) has made its scooters more accessible to a wider audience, directly contributing to higher sales. Combined with strong brand trust and consistent product quality, TVS continues to dominate the EV market in India.
