KTM Hikes 390 Adventure X Price By ₹17,000 Ahead Of 350cc Series Launch
KTM has increased the prices of its 390 Adventure X motorcycle ahead of its new 350cc range launch this month. The prices have increased by up to ₹17,000, and this hike is likely to be carried forward to the rest of the 390 lineup. Earlier Duke 390 prices were increased by upto 40,000 rupees.
KTM 390 Adventure X Prices Hiked
The Government of India last year introduced a new GST 2.0 regulation, which puts motorcycles above 350cc engine capacity under pressure. These models will now attract a higher GST rate of 40%, while those below 350cc will benefit from a reduced 18% GST, down from the earlier 28% and will directly reflect on the ex-showroom pricing.

Brands like Royal Enfield, Bajaj, KTM and Triumph are among the most affected, as they have a wide range of models that fall under the higher GST 2.0 tax bracket. In response, Bajaj, KTM and Triumph have begun developing their own 350cc models by downsizing their existing 390cc engines.
Triumph Motorcycles has already introduced its new 350cc range by reducing engine capacity, while keeping the power output figures largely similar, with only minor variations. The brand is expected to focus on this new engine platform for its entry-level lineup.

KTM's 350cc Plans
According to several reports, KTM is not planning to discontinue its 390cc models and is more likely to sell them alongside the upcoming 350cc lineup. Customers seeking the full KTM performance experience can continue to opt for the 390 range, while those looking for a more affordable option may consider the new 350cc models.
Meanwhile, the price of the 390 Adventure X has increased by up to ₹17,000 and is now priced at ₹3.43 lakh (ex-showroom). This revision is expected to extend to the remaining 390cc motorcycles, including the Duke 390, Adventure 390 and the RC 390.

The new 350cc lineup from KTM is expected to arrive by mid-April, alongside the Bajaj Dominar 350 and the Pulsar NS350Z. However, the naming strategy is likely to remain unchanged, as seen with Triumph continuing to use the '400' nameplate for its updated models.
So, even with the engine downsizing, the KTM 390 nameplate is expected to remain, with only the variants seeing changes. The components and overall design of these motorcycles are also likely to remain unchanged, retaining their sharp, sporty and performance-focused character.
