Keeway Launches Hypevolt-R Electric Scooter In India
Keeway, the Hungarian motorcycle brand, has introduced its first electric scooter in India. The QJ Motors-owned company operates in the country in partnership with Adishwar Auto Ride India. This scooter competes in the premium performance segment against rivals such as the TVS X and the Ather 450 Apex.
Design

The design follows an urban-focused maxi-style scooter theme, featuring twin vertical projector headlamps, a U-shaped LED light bar at the rear, L-shaped LED DRLs, flat and wide seats for maximum comfort, and an upright riding posture.
Powertrain and Battery
It is powered by a mid-mounted motor producing 12 kW of power, enabling the scooter to accelerate from 0-40 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 115 km/h. For rider convenience, it offers three riding modes - Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The Hypevolt-R also gets dual 5 kWh removable battery packs that claim a maximum IDC range of 180 km. This battery setup can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 3 hours. The claimed range is higher than its competitors, as the TVS X offers a maximum IDC range of 159 km, while the Ather 450 Apex claims 165 km.
Premium Features
Keeway also offers an Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS), a feature rarely seen in electric scooters in this segment. It comes equipped with a rear camera that keeps the rider informed about surrounding traffic and obstacles.

Additionally, it gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with auto daylight adjustment and Bluetooth connectivity. For safety, the Hypevolt-R features dual disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, 14-inch alloy wheels, traction control, hill descent control, and hill hold control.
Pricing Details
All these premium features make the Hypevolt-R one of the most feature-rich offerings in the segment. Only the upcoming Ultraviolette Tesseract is expected to offer a similar level of technology when it launches next year.
The Keeway Hypevolt-R is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while bookings are now open for Rs 5,000. Keeway has managed to price the scooter under the Rs 2 lakh mark, making it one of the most value-packed offerings in the segment. In comparison, rivals like the TVS X (Rs 2.66 lakh) and the Ather 450 Apex (Rs 1.95 lakh) are priced at a premium, despite offering a similar set of performance and features.
