Made-In-India Honda Rebel 500 Price Could Undercut Rs 4 Lakh - Report

The Honda Rebel 500's price in India could undercut Rs 4 lakh, claims a report by carandbike.com, days after the Bengaluru BigWing dealer website had listed the cruiser at Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The made-in-India Rebel 500 will compete with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Kawasaki Eliminator.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) recently showcased the Rebel 500 and a new Rebel 500 E-Clutch variant as part of a line-up of 10 premium motorcycles and scooters planned for the Indian market. The Honda Rebel 500 cruiser was tipped to be among the first to reach showrooms.

Honda Rebel 500 Expected Price And Variants

The Bengaluru Honda BigWing dealer website had pegged the Rebel 500 at Rs 5,49,469 (ex-showroom), a figure many had assumed was a listing error given how steep it was. The new report, on the other hand, indicates Honda intends a far more aggressive price to build stronger momentum than the model's 2025 debut managed.

The outgoing Rebel 500, sold as an imported CBU (Completely Built Unit), was priced at Rs 5.12 lakh (ex-showroom) last year. Local manufacturing this time around is expected to bring the price down by over a lakh compared to that CBU unit.

The Rebel 500 E-Clutch adds Honda's E-Clutch system on top of the "regular" model, letting riders choose between manual clutch operation or clutchless starts and gear shifts. The rider can override the E-Clutch system manually at any point, with the setup meant to ease city riding.

Both versions of the Honda Rebel 500 share the same 471cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 46 bhp and 43.3 Nm of peak torque and comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox..

Honda could equip the India-spec model with the circular TFT instrument cluster seen on the Rebel 300 at the same showcase, an upgrade over the basic LCD unit on the 2025 Rebel 500.
