Honda Announces Free Recall Service for CB1000 Hornet SP In India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced a recall for the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP in India. This was announced to address a technical issue affecting certain units of the flagship super-naked motorcycle.

Honda has announced a new service campaign for the CB1000 Hornet, to inspect the affected motorcycles and carry out essential services to ensure optimal performance and safety.

According to Honda, the recall involves an inspection of the fuel hose routing, which will be corrected if found to be improperly positioned. In addition, engine-related components will be examined and replaced wherever required. The entire inspection and repair process will be carried out free of cost at Honda's authorised BigWing dealerships across India, irrespective of the motorcycle's warranty status.

This ensures that all affected customers can have their motorcycles rectified without incurring any additional expense. Honda has stated that customers whose motorcycles are covered under the recall campaign will be contacted directly by their respective dealerships.

Owners can also independently verify whether their motorcycle is affected by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda's official website. This online facility allows customers to quickly check the recall status and schedule an appointment at the nearest dealership if needed.

The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP was launched in India in May 2025 and is currently priced at Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as one of Honda's flagship performance motorcycles globally, the CB1000 Hornet SP is designed to deliver a blend of aggressive styling, advanced electronics, and exhilarating performance.

Powering the motorcycle is a 1,000 cc inline four-cylinder engine that produces nearly 155 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 107 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, enabling seamless clutchless upshifts and downshifts.

Honda claims a top speed of approximately 230 kmph, placing the CB1000 Hornet SP among the fastest and most capable super-naked motorcycles currently on sale in the Indian market. It rivals models such as Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster and Triumph Street Triple 765 RS.
