Spy Pics: Hero XPulse 421 Spotted Testing At Khardung La - Reveals New Design Details
Hero MotoCorp's upcoming XPulse 421 has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing in Ladakh. The latest spy images, shared by Shifting-Gears.in on Instagram, provide one of the clearest looks yet at the motorcycle as development of Hero's new flagship adventure bike continues.
The Hero XPulse 421 was first previewed at EICMA 2024, where Hero showcased a larger-capacity adventure motorcycle positioned above the XPulse 210. Since then, multiple test mules have been spotted across the country, indicating that the model is progressing steadily towards production.
Hero XPulse 421 Spied - Adventure-Focused Styling
The latest prototype of the Hero XPulse 421 retains the rugged adventure-bike styling seen on earlier test mules. It features a tall windscreen, a pronounced front beak and an upright riding position designed for long-distance touring and off-road use.
The XPulse 421 also gets a muscular fuel tank, a long single-piece seat and a rear luggage rack. These elements point towards a touring-focused package and distinguish it from the smaller XPulse models currently on sale.
At the front, the XPulse 421 features a vertically stacked twin-projector LED headlamp setup. The design appears production-ready and gives the motorcycle a distinctive identity within Hero's lineup.

The XPulse 421 appears to be built around an all-new platform featuring a trellis-style frame. The latest spy images also reveal generous ground clearance and a substantial wheelbase, both of which are essential attributes for an adventure motorcycle.
Suspension duties on the Hero XPulse 421 mule are handled by upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. Wire-spoke wheels can be seen at both ends, reinforcing the motorcycle's off-road credentials.
Braking hardware comprises disc brakes at the front and rear. The test motorcycle was also fitted with dual-purpose tyres suitable for both highway and trail riding.
Hero XPulse 421 Spied - Engine And Performance
Hero has not disclosed technical specifications of the XPulse 421. However, the motorcycle is expected to sit above the XPulse 210 in the company's adventure motorcycle portfolio.
The larger-capacity platform is expected to offer improved touring ability and stronger highway performance than the existing XPulse range. The new motorcycle will serve as Hero's flagship adventure offering once launched.
Hero XPulse 421 Spied - Features
The test mule of the Hero XPulse 421 appears to be equipped with a large TFT instrument console positioned behind the windscreen. The cockpit layout also looks considerably more premium than that of the XPulse 210.
Handguards and a rear luggage carrier are also visible on the test bike. These additions further highlight the motorcycle's adventure-touring focus.
Hero XPulse 421 Spied - Expected Launch Timeline
Hero MotoCorp has not announced an official launch timeline for the XPulse 421. However, the frequency of recent test sightings suggests that development is entering an advanced stage. We expect the production-spec Hero XPulse 421 to debut at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy this November.
The XPulse 421 will become the flagship model in Hero's adventure motorcycle range when it enters production. It will also represent the brand's first entry into a larger-capacity ADV segment above the XPulse 210, which is currently dominated by the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
