Hero Patents Vida NEX 2 Trike In India
Hero has now patented the Vida NEX 2 self-balancing tri-scooter in India. This concept vehicle was first showcased at EICMA 2025, and the latest patent filing suggests that the company may be exploring its production feasibility.

This compact electric trike features a three-wheel setup, with two wheels at the front and a single wheel at the rear. It is equipped with a self-balancing system that can stabilise the vehicle at low speeds and even while stationary.
The tri-scooter also gets a dedicated front storage compartment where riders can store essential items. The suspension setup has been engineered in a way similar to conventional vehicles, helping improve stability and cornering balance.
Hero has designed the body with large side panels, a flowing aerodynamic profile, an adjustable windscreen, a belt-drive system, a swingarm-mounted number plate holder, and all-wheel disc brakes for improved stopping power.

If launched in India, the Vida NEX 2 could become the country's first electric-powered tri-scooter. It could be positioned as a premium urban mobility solution, potentially creating an entirely new segment in the market. The powertrain and battery system are likely to be engineered with a strong focus on practicality and everyday usability.
These vehicles will be part of Hero's Vida Novus sub-brand, which also includes the NEX 1 and NEX 3 concept electric microcars. Hero is expected to target international markets as well, as the company plans to expand beyond Asia and Africa in the coming years.
