Hero Creates History With India's First Flex-Fuel Bikes: Prices Start At ₹72,792
Hero MotoCorp has launched India's first production-ready flex-fuel motorcycles, marking a significant milestone in the country's alternative fuel mobility journey. The new Hero Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe are the first mass-market motorcycles in India to feature flex-fuel capability.
Hero Launches India's First Flex-Fuel Bikes
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari officially launched India's first flex-fuel motorcycles. The Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is priced at ₹82,710 (ex-showroom), while the Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel is available at ₹72,792 (ex-showroom).
Initially, these motorcycles will be offered in Delhi and selected regions of Maharashtra starting from July 2026. Hero MotoCorp plans to gradually expand availability across the country through a phased nationwide rollout.
Flex Fuel Bike Specs

Both motorcycles are powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The engines have been specially engineered to run on fuel blends ranging from E20 to E85 ethanol-blended petrol. They produce 8.6 hp and 8.3 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
To support higher ethanol content, Hero MotoCorp has recalibrated the ECU and upgraded the fuel delivery system with an additional fuel filter. Introducing flex-fuel technology in some of the brand's best-selling motorcycles is expected to accelerate its adoption among everyday commuters.
Flex-Fuel Technology For The Mass Market
While several manufacturers have explored flex-fuel technology for premium motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp has taken a more practical approach by introducing it in high-volume commuter models such as the Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe.

These motorcycles enjoy immense popularity across both urban and rural markets, making them ideal candidates for promoting alternative fuel technologies on a larger scale. For reference, the standard Hero Splendor Plus is currently priced at ₹77,557 (ex-showroom), while the regular HF Deluxe starts at ₹59,477 (ex-showroom).
The Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel also comes equipped with i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology, which helps improve fuel efficiency during city riding. Additionally, both motorcycles retain the familiar analogue-digital instrument cluster and other practical features offered on their standard counterparts.
