Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel Vs Regular: 5 Big Changes Every Buyer Should Know
Hero Splendor Plus is one of the most iconic motorcycles that shaped daily commuting in India. This popular motorcycle is now available in a flex-fuel option, which runs on higher ethanol blends compared to the regular petrol model.
Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel Vs Regular: 5 Big Changes
Hero MotoCorp, India's leading two-wheeler brand, has introduced the country's first production-ready flex-fuel motorcycles. Let us compare the standard Hero Splendor Plus with its flex-fuel variant and understand what has changed and what benefits buyers can get.
1. More Performance In Flex Fuel

The regular Hero Splendor Plus is powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 5.9 kW of power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
With E20 fuel, Hero MotoCorp claims this motorcycle can deliver a maximum mileage of up to 70 km/l. This is supported by Hero's i3S technology, which improves fuel efficiency, especially in city traffic.
The flex-fuel version is compatible with fuel blends from E20 up to E85. It uses the same 97.2cc engine but comes with 36 upgraded components to support higher ethanol blends. This engine produces 7 per cent higher power at 6.3 kW and 3 per cent higher torque at 8.3 Nm when running on E85 fuel. This ensures more performance compared to the regular Splendor Plus.
2. Future Proof

India is actively pushing for more flex-fuel vehicles that support higher ethanol blends. As Hero MotoCorp has one of the largest dealership and service networks in India, buying a flex-fuel bike now can make buyers more future-ready for upcoming fuel changes.
3. Maximum Compatibility
The flex-fuel motorcycles are fully compatible with current E20 fuel, which is already available across India. Since they support E20 to E85 blends, riders can continue using them without worrying about future ethanol fuel transitions.
4. Supports Green Mobility And Local Supply Ecosystem
The flex-fuel engine not only improves fuel compatibility but also helps reduce emissions. Hero claims it delivers 77 per cent lower carbon monoxide emissions, 14 per cent lower hydrocarbons, and 40 per cent lower non-methane hydrocarbons. Also, ethanol is produced from agricultural products and buying a flex-fuel vehicle supports India's local farming ecosystem, reduces crude oil imports, and promotes cleaner mobility.
5. Convenient Technology

Apart from i3S technology, the Hero Splendor Plus flex-fuel version also gets practical features like a digital-analogue instrument cluster, flex-fuel-specific styling and decals, USB charging support, improved performance, and comfortable seating.
Pricing
The regular Hero Splendor Plus is priced at Rs 77,557 (ex-showroom), while the flex-fuel version is priced slightly higher at Rs 78,710 (ex-showroom). The standard Hero HF Deluxe starts at Rs 59,477 (ex-showroom), while its flex-fuel variant is priced at Rs 68,792 (ex-showroom). Hero also offers a 5-year or 70,000 km warranty, adding more value for customers.
