EV Two-Wheeler Sales Hit Record High In July 2026 - EV Share Hits Record 11.24%
India's electric two-wheeler sales crossed the 2 lakh unit mark for the first time in July 2026, with retail registrations touching 2,04,362 units. This marked an 88.32% year-on-year jump over the 1,08,516 units sold in July 2025, as per data released by FADA.
The EV two-wheeler segment also posted 4.82% month-on-month growth over the 1,94,963 units registered in June 2026. EVs now account for a record 11.24% share of India's overall two-wheeler market, up from 10.59% in June and 7.65% a year earlier.

Petrol-powered two-wheelers still dominate the market with an 88.67% share, while CNG and LPG models make up just 0.09% of total registrations.

TVS Motor remained the largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, retailing 55,499 units in July. Sales rose 135.24% year-on-year from the 23,592 units sold in July 2025 and climbed 17.03% month-on-month from 47,421 units in June. TVS accounted for over 27% of all electric two-wheelers sold during the month.
Bajaj Auto held on to second place with 45,613 sold last month, driven by sustained demand for the Chetak range. Registrations grew 121.89% year-on-year from July 2026's 20,557 units and rose 4.84% month-on-month from the 43,507 units sold in June.
Ather Energy stayed in third position with 30,357 units sold even as sales slipped by 3.46% month-on-month from the 31,445 units in June. Hero's Vida brand continued its steady climb, while Ola Electric continued to lose ground, with registrations falling for both the year-on-year and month-on-month periods.
Among the smaller manufacturers, Greaves Ampere and River both posted strong year-on-year growth, with River recording the fastest expansion in the industry. BGauss also delivered a sharp increase, while all the other manufacturers combined posted a strong year-on-year growth despite a month-on-month dip.
