Ducati Panigale V4 R Launched At Rs 84.99 Lakh: India's Most Expensive New Bike - So This Or A House?

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has launched the Panigale V4 R in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 84.99 lakh, introducing its most race-focused and track-oriented production motorcycle to the Indian market as a homologation special developed for World Superbike competition. The Ducati Panigale V4 is currently the most expensive bike on sale in India.

The Ducati Panigale V4 R is powered by a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine, producing 218hp at 15,500rpm, making it the most powerful road-legal Ducati motorcycle currently on sale in India, with engine internals derived directly from the brand's racing programme.

Ducati has equipped the Panigale V4 R with MotoGP-derived aerodynamic sidepods, designed to generate ground effect at high lean angles, improving tyre contact and stability while cornering aggressively on track surfaces.

The aerodynamic package also includes larger biplane wings, delivering 25 per cent more downforce at 270kmph compared to the outgoing model, improving front-end stability during hard braking and high-speed direction changes.

A Ducati Racing Gearbox is standard, with neutral positioned below first gear to prevent false neutrals during track riding, mirroring the layout used on Ducati's World Superbike machines.
Electronics are controlled by Ducati's latest Vehicle Observer system, managing traction control, wheelie control, slide control and engine braking, while a new Race Brake Control system allows controlled rear-brake intervention during corner entry.

Rider information is displayed on a 6.9-inch TFT instrument cluster with an 8:3 aspect ratio, featuring a Grip Meter that visually indicates available tyre grip based on real-time data from onboard sensors.
Chassis hardware includes a Front Frame, hollow symmetrical swingarm, fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, forged aluminium wheels and Brembo Hypure monobloc brakes, with kerb weight without fuel listed at 186.5kg.

The Panigale V4 R is offered in a numbered production series, with each motorcycle carrying a unique serial number on the steering plate, underlining its homologation status and limited availability in the Indian market.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, "We are immensely proud to introduce the Panigale V4 R to the Indian market. This motorcycle is a true testament to Ducati's racing soul and sporting DNA, bringing technology and performance from MotoGP and WorldSBK directly to the streets. The Desmosedici Stradale R engine, the advanced aerodynamics, and the racing-derived electronics are engineered for one purpose: to offer unparalleled performance on the track. For the discerning Indian enthusiast who demands the absolute best, the Panigale V4 R is not just a motorcycle; it's an experience of what it feels like to ride a true racing machine."
