The other mechanical bits of the bike are unchanged as well including the monocoque chassis that underpins the Ducati Monster Dark. A Showa 43mm upside-down fork up front and a preload-adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear handle the suspension duties. Kerb weight is 175kg, 4kg less than the previous generation, and seat height is 815mm.
Ducati Monster Dark - Design & Features
Black paintwork covers the bodywork of the new Ducati Monster Dark, while the front frame sections and intake snorkel stay unpainted for contrast. The rims too are all black, without the red highlights found on the standard Monster, and the seat uses the same material throughout.

The Ducati Monster Dark also loses the LED sequential turn indicators of the standard bike. The Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0 bi-directional quickshifter becomes an optional accessory, as do cruise control, a flyscreen and the passenger seat cowl.
Like the Monster V2, the Ducati Monster Dark sports a six-axis IMU that supports cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control, alongside ride-by-wire. The four riding modes, Sport, Road, Urban and Wet, are selected through a petal joystick and a 5-inch colour TFT display.
