Ducati Desmo 450 MX Launched In India At ₹17.24 Lakh – Hardcore Motocross Machine
Ducati has launched the Ducati Desmo 450 MX in India. This motocross motorcycle is purpose-built for motocross racing and is not road-legal, meaning it can only be used on closed racing circuits. It is also available for booking at select Ducati dealerships.
Ducati Desmo 450 MX Motocross Launched In India
The Italian motorcycle manufacturer has introduced the Desmo 450 MX in India at a starting price of ₹17.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The motocross bike is designed exclusively for circuit and off-road racing and cannot be used on regular public roads.
The Desmo 450 MX is aimed at professional motocross riders and racing enthusiasts who want to experience high-performance riding in challenging off-road conditions. This model also marks Ducati's first-ever entry into the motocross motorcycle segment in the Indian market.
Engine & Performance
The motorcycle is powered by a 449.6cc single-cylinder engine that produces 63.5 hp of power and 53.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It also features several advanced technologies, including up/down quickshifter, a multiplate clutch with hydraulic control, Ducati's Desmodromic timing system, and liquid cooling to ensure high performance during demanding off-road racing.
Chassis & Suspension
The Desmo 450 MX is designed to be both strong and lightweight, featuring an aluminium frame with a compact subframe made up of just 11 elements. Suspension duties are handled by a 49mm Showa USD front fork with 310mm of travel; the rear suspension offers 129mm of travel, ensuring excellent handling and stability during motocross racing.
Braking & Tyres
For braking performance, the bike is equipped with Brembo brake callipers and master cylinders, delivering strong and reliable braking power in off-road conditions. The system is supported by Galfer discs measuring 260mm at the front and 240mm at the rear, along with 21-inch front and 19-inch rear Pirelli Scorpion MX32 high-grip off-road tyres.
Technology & Features
The motorcycle is developed using Ducati's racing DNA, derived from its MotoGP and WorldSBK championship-winning machines. It comes equipped with several modern features, such as:

Bookings for the motocross bike are already open, and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of this month.
